Pencil Value Sketch

I haven't been making you do pencil value sketches but instead, I have been turning my images into black and white photos for you to use as value sketches. This is okay for me to do so you have an idea of the large value pattern in the photo, but when you are painting your own scenes I suggest you start doing a value sketch to learn how to compose your value pattern.

A good value pattern is probably the second most important step in creating a great painting, drawing being the 1st most important step.
