I know a lot of you have been with me for a while and know about this kneaded rubber eraser tip, but for all you newcomers, here is a short video on how to erase pencil lines on your watercolor paper correctly.
I learned this trick from my friend Max Ranft back when we were both working for the J Walter Thompson ad agency. Max wasn't a watercolorist but he used this technique on storyboard drawings and also Max was a life drawing instructor and would use it on life drawings.
Don't use the heavy rubbery pink, red or white erasers on watercolor paper. The erasers on the end of a pencil are also ones you never want to use on watercolor paper. I can't tell you how many times I have ruined a piece of paper erasing with a pencil eraser, not knowing it had hardened and then it just puts a pink grove into your paper. Use only kneaded erasers.
