Holiday Cards

One reason I love the holiday season so much is that I get to do a ton of small watercolor sketches that become holiday cards that people love receiving.

So you say you never get to practice, well this is the month where you can do a bunch of small sketches and then use those small sketches as practice and then use them as cards.

This week for the paint-a-long I will have the students divide their paper into small postcard size painting areas and then we will try to paint 2 to 4 small size sketches. This is something you should be doing all year long but for the purpose of getting 2 things done at once, It's in December that we finally practice our small sketches because it gets 2 things accomplished at once. Happy Holiday!

Below I have posted 5 images that you can use if you like or come up with your own photos. Do as many as you feel like doing. For the demo I will probably only do about 2 or 3.

DALE L POPOVICH

Dale is a former teacher of the American Academy of Art, where I got most of my formal art training. I didn't have Dale as an instructor but I had always heard while I was a student there that he was a great teacher. Dale's landscape are amazing!
