Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter #359
I'm back home for a couple of days and then heading off to Orlando, Florida for the NAMTA Expo. This is a trade show for all the manufactures of art supplies and I will be doing a small workshop and demos for Holbein and Legion Paper. This expo is not for artists to attend, it is for the stores
and sellers of art supplies. I will let you know in future newsletters what new products will be coming to the market.

2 Color Painting This Week
2 weeks ago we started with a one color paint-a-long, now we are up to 2 colors after a week off because I was away. I will be on the road this Thursday but I will do the Paint-a-long from my Hotel room. Let's just hope there is a strong WiFi present.
When choosing the 2 colors that you want to paint with for this paint-a-long, I would suggest a warm and a cool color. Remember I also allow for the use of black and white to darken and lighten a color.
You can use the warm and cool colors in a way to show dimension with a cool background and a warm foreground, or reverse that if you like. Be aware of the values which are usually a little more important then the colors.
The painting this week will be a vintage car with chrome... should be fun!

Paint-a-long Details: the paint-a-long on April 7th will be done on Stonehenge Aqua 300lb Cold Press using Holbein Watercolors. It will be a 2 color study of a car with shiny chrome.
