I am still in Orlando, Florida today at the NAMTA expo and will be heading back home in the afternoon. I hope tio get back on Wednesday evening because Thursday will be a very busy day with Lakes Region Watercolor Guild's demo by Ratindra Das, then my class in Libertyville followed by my paint-a-long in the evening
I'm sorry this newsletter is short and sweet but I didn't have much time to write very much with all the demonstrating I have been doing here at this materials expo. I will be posting a newsletter with all the new materials I have seen in an upcoming newsletter.

3 Color Painting This Week
This week we are at the 3 color study for the paint-a-long and if you choose 3 primary colors you can really almost make it a full color.
There is a lot of greenery in the paint-a-long photo so I will make some swatches of three different colors from my palette to see what I can up with and what I think will work with this photo. Since I don't care for green I may switch it totally to some other color.
Always think large value pattern instead of thinking what color to use... if the value of the color is like the value pattern then the painting will turn out no matter what the color of the objects are.
This Paint Puck water container was at the NAMTA expo and it seemed to be a very big draw for people at their booth. I used it at the Holbein Booth and it worked really well.
Paint-a-long Details: the paint-a-long on April 14th will be done on Stonehenge Aqua 300lb Cold Press using Holbein Watercolors. It will be a 3color study of some flowers. I am looking to try totally different colors from what is in the photo.
