BeckerArt FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter Feb 22nd Pencil to Watercolor Paper
Published: Tue, 02/22/22
Hello
Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter #353
Do you remember back in January I told you that you should skip the new year's resolutions and instead just focus on having fun and trying new things? Well, I have taken my own advice and have been having the most fun ever by trying new mediums and surfaces when it comes to my paintings. This week I will be demonstrating in colored pencil and 2 weeks ago I started painting in oils again. I'm learning so much and having the time
of my life! Would love to hear if you are doing the same.
2 week's ago I did a demonstration on Yupo Paper using Holbein Watercolors for the Lakes Region Watercolor Guild... that video can be seen HERE

Pencils for Watercolor Paper
In one of my classes, I witnessed someone using a soft lead pencil to draw their sketch onto the watercolor paper and it turned out to be a mess with too much lead getting on the paper. I have to keep on reminding myself that there are new people and beginners getting this newsletter and that are watching the paint-a-longs so I need to remember to again go over the basics once in a while.
Watch Video below to see which pencils I use to draw on my watercolor paper.
Paint-a-long Details: the paint-a-long this week will be done on Stonehenge Aqua 300lb Cold Press using Holbein Watercolors. Water and Swans are the subject for this week.
