Published: Tue, 05/17/22
Hello
Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter #365
I had a great week last week where I had done a colored pencil demonstration for a local colored pencil society and it made me think that I may start some different mediums for some of my Thursday night Paint-a-longs. Before I do this I thought I better ask you, my followers, what do you think about me doing other mediums on my paint-a-longs? Beckerart@gmail.com
This week's newsletter covers 3 art-related TV shows that I really liked watching but for next week I was going to recommend some art-related movies. I only remember a few so I would like to hear from you what your favorite art-related movie is? Please send me the name of an art-related movie you love to Beckerart@gmail.com
YES TO Class at the Civic Center in Libertyville May 19th 1PM TO 3:30PM

Art Related TV Programs
A couple of weeks ago I was talking with my weekly class and someone brought up a tv program that they had been watching that they really liked and recommended it to me. Then I wanted to tell the class about one that I recently started watching, but I forgot the name. I went looking for both these programs this week and I found them plus another so I figure if I put them in my newsletter this week you will all remember their names and I
too won't forget the names. I found all 3 on Amazon Prime.
The 1st one I want to tell you about is called Fake or Fortune It is about these 3 people finding masters' paintings and investigating mysteries behind paintings and determining if they are originals or fakes and the value of those paintings.
The 2nd TV show I found really interesting was called Landscape Artist of the Year and there was also Portrait Artist of the Year too. This one is basically an art competition with 3 judges. It's fun watching what the painters create and then watching what the judges have to say about the works. Sometimes I agree with the
judges but sometimes I feel that I don't agree with their choices and critiques.
Fun to watch!
The 3rd TV show is called Work of Art, The Next Great Artist. This show is a creative competition series that seeks to discover new talent and shed light on the artistic process the typically occurs behind closed doors. In this one it isn't all painting, it's about all different kinds of art, but still very interesting!
This week's product of the week can be used for watching those tv shows that I have listed above and you can also use it to project your image onto your watercolor paper to trace from.
Paint-a-long Details: This week we are going to paint the same bridge that they painted in the Landscape Artist of the Year tv show and see what we can make out of this scene. You can watch that episode HERE.
