This is the 4th week and we went from one color all the way to full color so you can begin to
see how important the values of those colors are. The actual hue of the colors are also important but for composing your watercolor painting you first have to learn how to see the big picture of the value pattern.
Colors can be used to show distance and combined together to make a great color scheme, but you have to take into account the values and the intensity of those colors for the design of the painting.
Even though I say this week we will work in full color that doesn't mean you have to use all the colors in your palette. It only means you can use as many as you like or as little as you like to create your painting.
I recommend you always start with a loose color scheme in mind, which I usually look to see what complementary colors I will use. This doesn't need to be followed as exact colors that will be used, just a way to
start and see where it goes. You can possibly add or eliminate as you are working on the painting. Picking a basic color scheme is just a way I like to think when starting a painting.
Always remember that no matter what your color scheme is you still have to work the value pattern more.
