Hello Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter #416 I am super excited about my upcoming trip to PACE in Denver, Colorado. I haven't been to a PACE Expo so I really don't know what to expect, but I hear it is supposed to be a really great event. There
won't be a paint-a-long on May 25th, but I will try to get a newsletter out and keep you updated on what this PACE Expo is all about. In this week's newsletter I start off a new series of video tutorials that I will doing on YouTube to show you how to use Photopea.com which is like the Adobe Photoshop program. This morning Tuesday May 16th I will be heading to the TWSA exhibit in Kenosha, WI. at 10am... if anybody is in the area and wants to
drop by to check out the show with me, you are very welcome to do so.PLEASE NOTE: YES there will be class this coming Thursday at the Civic Center in Libertyville.I have received word that there are still openings for my Dillman's watercolor workshop in June... please sign-up asap. At this workshop you don't have to bring any supplies, I bring it all. Please sign-up HERE Yes to Class at The Civic Center in Libertyville, Thurs, May 18th 1pm to 3:30pm NO Class, at The Studio in McHenry, Sat, May 20th 9am to 11:30am Last week I conducted a critique for the Lake Region Watercolor Guild where I showed what I critiqued with visual images that I worked on in a photo manipulation program called Adobe, Photoshop. Afterward, a number of people came up to me and asked how in the world was I able to manipulate the images like that. They asked if I could show them how I did
that in Photoshop and if I could do a class showing them how to do things like that.
I decided not to do a class on Photoshop but instead make a bunch of informative free videos that you can watch on YouTube where I show you how I work a free program just like Photoshop called Photopea.com and teach you how to use that program. I will do a bunch of short videos showing how to use Photopea.com to do tasks that will be helpful to you my watercolor
students. If you have always wanted to know how a certain task is performed in a photo manipulation program, please let me know so I can do a fast video to show you how.
Watch the 1st Photopea.com video on how to turn a colored photograph image to black and white to see the black and white pattern of the photo. This is something I talk about in almost every
paint-a-long video I do. This is so one can tell if the pattern of the values will work for a good painting. Workshops and Demonstrations 2023 Bagley Area Arts Collaborative, W/C workshop, Bagley, MN June 13-15th Dillman's, W/C workshop,

Buffalo Kaplinski is one of the 80 instructors at PACE that I hope I get a chance to talk to. I love his work and watercolor technique.
