This last plein-air event I attended made me well aware that I want to try my hardest to never use glass and matboard again when framing my watercolors. It is just so much easier to wax the watercolor paintings that I paint on watercolor panels that are standard frame sizes. I hope to start using watercolor panels as much as I can purchase or make
so I don't have to use odd-sized sheets of paper that you have to custom frame with matboard and glass.
I saw on Facebook the artist Richie Vios and his watercolor framing was amazing. He used plein-air frames that had a really nice modern look that made his paintings look great.
