Are you getting your holiday cards painted? I am figuring that many of you are painting scenes that have snow in them so it got me thinking about the use of white paint and which white paint we should use. I know it's not a
traditional way to paint watercolors but I think it is important for you to know how and what white pigments are about and how to use them even if you don't want to use them in your work. This week's newsletter talks about white paint in the video newsletter.

most of them but if I don't get to your ideas please don't think that they weren't a good idea, I just have a lot of suggestions coming in and many times I overlook some of the ideas as week's go by and new ideas are constantly coming in.

Testing of 4 Holbein White Pigments
I know that using white in a watercolor is not a traditional way of working transparent watercolor but in my teachings the last couple of years I have added white to my students palette as a way to get a pastel color and to lighten a dark color that you already have in your palette.
When I was in art school this was the tray we used in Shapiro's watercolor class. I had to order it as I love that it doesn't stain when mixing your watercolors and it brings back great memories too!
