Cell Phone Camera Blurring the Background

I can't believe I never knew how to use my camera on my cell phone in a way where you can create a shorter depth of field, meaning blurring your background. 
Watch video to see how I use my Android cell phone to get a blurred background. I hear it also works the same way on an iPhone.

The image in color and grayscale are for this week's Paint-a-long, which will be a two color exercise. You can also use black and white with your two colors. We will also learn how to do optical scatter with the sun and how it changes the objects in front of the sun. I would suggest that you use a warm color and a cool color.
