Hello
Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter #465
I returned home last Sunday from New York where I saw the AWS exhibit and Demo by
Antonio Masi the President of AWS. In time you will be able to watch that demo on the AWS website. After seeing a show of this quality it really inspired me to keep on painting, learning and teaching to the best of my ability. It doesn't matter what level you are at, an artist at any level can always learn from
other artists that are teaching their craft. Get out there and check out great quality watercolor exhibits and take classes to learn from those teachers you like best. Just keep on painting is the best advice I could ever give my students... reward yourself by painting, painting, painting!
I have a live workshop in Reedsburg, WI on Wednesday and Thursday
this week but I won't get back home to do the paint-a-long until 7:30pm that night. GO HERE
Linking Objects to Make Better Value Patterns
When you have a ton of objects in your painting and you are looking to simplify the values, a shadow connecting the obects many times will simplify the pattern in your painting. See below video for the explanation of linking objects with shadows.
