This week I am spending an extreme amount of time getting ready for my trip to the Vermont Art Event.
7 classes in 4 days classes are listed below.

This week's Newsletter talks about the use of grays in your paintings and how important they are.

This coming Saturday morning I will be having class at The Studio.

No need to sign up for my Saturday class at The Studio, just show up and join us, that's the way we do it in the summer,  we never know who will be showing up to class so come surprise us.

My Saturday Classes at The Studio McHenry are pay-as-you-go at $20.00 per class.
NO Saturday Class Sat. AUGUST 1st. 

My Thursday Class will NOT meet  JULY 30th, or AUGUST 6th

Getting beautiful grays is one reason I don't clean my palette, the other reason is because I use Holbein paints and I don't like washing loads of pigment down the drain. 

To get a nice gray mix your compliment colors together in different amounts to see what you like best. Don't mix and mix and mix until it is muddy, let the colors have a chance to mix themselves together while floating in a puddle of water on your paper or on your palette. A few dabs to mix the colors is best a vigorous mixing of colors tend to make mud.

The reason you want grays in your painting is because it makes your other colors more intense.
