Hello

Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter #94, Travel & Sketch

What a tease the weather has been here in the midwest, beautiful spring weather this weekend and into this week. Hope you got a chance to get out there and sketch or at least get some beautiful reference photos. For those not in the midwest, I still hope you got out there and sketched away. If you didn't get a chance to get outside and enjoy the weather or views, I have a fun newsletter for you this week.

Only 12 more days before my BeckerArt SHOW-iN Pop-Up-Gallery and Expo. Many of my students in my weekly classes will be show-in off their works and will demonstrate their skills. for more info go HERE

Another event at Smith Central Garage on March 19th will be the Dillman's Festival of Artists.

Travel & Sketch

Have you ever wanted to sketch a location in another country or state but then come to the realization that it just isn't going to happen anytime soon. I have found a way for you to take those trips and sketch for free. Okay, before you get too excited, it's not exactly free and it's not the kind of traveling you are thinking.

It isn't totally free because you have to have a computer and you have to be connected to the internet. This is the part that is costing you. However, I know you have a computer and internet service because you are reading this email so you are all set to explore and travel the world.

What am I talking about, you ask.... well I am talking about visiting and exploring the world with websites like Google Maps or Bing Maps. I hope you are not too disappointed but taking a Google maps tour can really be fun and give you some good reference material along with seeing places in the world that you will probably never get the chance to see for real.

The images below were ones I found on Google maps. I was looking for places to sketch like I was on a trip and I would comb the streets all over the world. These I found for sketching and maybe sometime in the future I will also try painting them.

Give it a try the next time you feel like you want to explore and sketch in another country or state. You will be surprised how many places Google and Bing have been.

Can you guess from the images below where the places are that I found on Google. The Middle one you probably can guess but the other two I think you will have a problem with. Click on the photos or the wording under the photos to take you to where I found these locations.

Happy Digital travels!
