Hello
Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT
Newsletter #97, Festival of Artists
Last week's newsletter about letting go of your babies (paintings), really hit home for a lot of people. I don't think any one of my other 96 newsletters ever got back such a large response. The painting that is shown above is one painting that I never wanted to let go of along with a couple others. I had however listened to the words my mentor who told me to let go so now this painting along with the others have
new homes and owners and the owner of the painting above is a painter I know, Cece St.Martin. I think if I ever wanted to go see the painting, I believe Cece would let come to take a look.
This week's newsletter I talk about the Festival of Artists events that I will be part of in the next two weeks.

Dillman's Free Festival of Artists |
It's that time of year I call March Madness, but not because of the basketball tournament but because I am driving like mad to make all the great Dillman's Festival of Artists so I can demonstrate to all the fine artists that are joining me at these events. I'm heading from Addison, Illinois to McHenry, Illinois, to Madison, Wisconsin, then all the way up to Hopkins,
Minnesota and the final festival and open house will be at Dillman's in Lac du Flambeau.
I have been asked what happens at these festivals, and the answer is, it's a day for you to watch and learn from 6 to 9 professional artists who demonstrate and teach their stuff. You also get great information about the workshops that each teacher teaches at Dillman's. You can also pick up some great artwork, books, and other items at a silent auction that helps the www.dillmans.com/scholarship fund. You get to meet and mingle with fellow artists, along with a place to get info about the Dillman's resort. There are also refreshments, door prizes, and giveaways and it is all FREE for you the attendee.
This year in McHenry the Lakes Region Watercolor Guild, The Studio, Smith Central Garage and my company
BeckerArt are all sponsoring this event for you. If you are in any of the areas that these festivals are taking place, you owe it to yourself to come and take advantage of such a great deal, it's like taking a day worth of workshops for free.

Laura Lein-Svencner is one of the demonstrators at the McHenry Festival of Artists. Last year I watched as she demonstrated and her work blew me away. You really want to come and see Laura work her magic. After you see her demonstrate you will want to start creating Mixed Media Collages.
