BeckerArt FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter June 20th, Student Search

Published: Tue, 06/20/17

Hello

Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter #110B,  Student Search

I said I wasn't going to put out a newsletter this week but I am still looking for more students to submit their work so it is a short newsletter this week and not much to learn but I need more students to send me their best!

I am getting back into the swing of things after being away from my daily routine for almost a month.
However things will not be slowing down, they will actually be getting busier. The first thing that I am working on and need your help on is the 111th Newsletter. I am still looking for former and recent students that want to show off their work in the 111th newsletter. So far I have about 9 people that have sent me an image of a recent work and a short bio. some have also sent a piece of work that they did when they first started watercolor. I will be putting everyone that sends in their stuff into that 111th newsletter because
I want to show off my students work. I love teaching and seeing my students advance into skilled artists.
Again this week I am asking anybody that is or was a student of mine to send me an image of one of your best works along with a short bio of yourself. If you have a shot of an early piece of work, also send that with your best piece. It's is because of my students that I love teaching and putting out this newsletter, so I would like to share with all my readers the wonderful work my students are doing.
Send your images and bio to david@davidrbecker.com

Coming up in July I will be doing my annual workshop in Vermont with Holbein at their Vermont Art Event

Student Search
I am looking for all the students that have taken a class or workshop from me that feel they have learned something from my teachings and would like to show off their work.

I have been teaching since 1983 and I have been loving it to this day. Last week at Dillman's creative workshop I came to realize I have taught hundreds and hundreds of students and now I also include non-artists that come to my paint parties, many of those party painters also want to become serious artists.

Watching students take my lessons, advice and teachings to become great artists has been my driving force to keep me teaching year after year. I also love the people that start out as students but become artist friends along the way.

Send me one piece of your best work, a bio and if you would like, send me one of the first watercolors or an early piece to show off where you started and where you are now. Send it to david@davidrbecker.com

Artist of the Week
Dan Danielson-  met Dan Last week at the TWSA annual awards dinner and talked with him about our Academy days. Dan also went to the American Academy of Art and also had Irving Shapiro as a watercolor teacher. There are so many artists that Irving Shapiro has taught.  I'm really starting to learn how important good art teachers are in the creating of good artists.
