Published: Tue, 02/20/18

Hello

Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter #145, Paper Pad Tip

It was 2 weeks ago that I came back from my Florida workshops and somehow it seems like 2 months have passed since so much has been happening. My next workshop is 2 weeks away in Morris IL and I believe it is filled up. The workshop after that is the Kanuga workshop and that one is also filled up. If you are thinking of taking one of my workshops please sign-up early so you don't miss out.

It's final, I have a set date for the open house of my BeckerArt Studio/Gallery/Classroom. The day is St Patricks Day March 17th and continuing to March 18th. There is a parade by the city that passes by my gallery at 12 noon. Then after the parade passes, I open the gallery to all visitors interested in seeing the new place. More info to come in the coming weeks!

Paper Pad Tip
The tip I have for you this week may seem like a silly thing but I can tell you that I have had many students who have had problems taking the paper off these watercolor pads without ripping or damaging their artwork.

To find out how to easily take the paper off the pad after you finished your sketch or painting watch this short video and it will never be a problem again.

Something that isn't in the video that I think you should know is that the first piece of paper on these pads is usually a black thin sheet of paper. you can also take this piece of paper off using the same instructions I give for taking off the watercolor paper.

I was loving last week's newsletter with all the vintage images from those royalty free sites. Old Black and white images are so much fun to paint!
