Wow time flies when you conduct workshop after workshop after demo after demo!
I'm here at Dillman's in Lac du Flambeau right now doing a 4 day watermedia workshop and days are just flying by!

These last couple of months I have really been focusing hard on trying to get the WOW factor in every painting that I do. What is a Wow Factor? If you look at the 2 photos below, which one do you think has the wow factor? Most people would say the second photo below because it is more dramatic.
There are many different ways to make a painting have a wow factor and dramatic lighting is one of them. Another wow factor in a painting is the subject matter and sometimes it can be a certain technique. Sometimes it can be the colors used or even the overall size of the painting. One very popular way that many artists are using to get the wow factor in there work is to use super hyper realism as there technique in watercolor. This kind of work is super detailed and it looks like it
takes years to finish a painting because of all the details which gives them a wow factor.
No matter how you get the wow factor in your work it will make the painting stand out and I most artists would love to have their work stand out!

when I was in art school this is what we all used for our watercolor tray... nice thing is that it never stained and was so easy to clean.

I am going to try and find a place to do a live plain air demo on Thursday Sept. 2nd at 6:30pm CST on my YouTube Channel
Due to the WIFI problem I won't be able to do a regular Paint-a-long but I will try to do a demo and afterwards will post the photo on my website, so you can try it as a paint-a-long but it will be a plein-air painting and I don't know yet what subject matter.
