Hello
Welcome to the FLOAT-YOUR-PIGMENT Newsletter #529
What an amazing week I had at the Paint-the-Point plein-air event in Mineral Point, WI. Everything about this event was great, meeting so many wonderful artists and painting at a bunch of amazing locations. There was a very intense time frame to paint the amount of paintings for all the categories of the awards and for the sales. I was very honored to have the 3 judges pick my paintings to win 1st place for all 4
categories, Main Event, Nocturnal, Post Card, and Quick Paint. I also want to thank the buyers who bought 3 of my paintings. I have been learning so many wonderful things when painting outdoors and from many of the other artists I meet. Below is the painting that won 1st place.
The Dillman's Workshop is all filled up and I will see those of you that are taking this workshop coming up next Sunday. SIGN-UP HERE For Waiting

Varnish Your Watercolors for UV protection
I have learned from my artist friend Russell Jewell who had tested varnishing his watercolors instead of waxing them and then putting them in a window for 2 years to find out it works best for protecting against UV damage when protecting your watercolors. Watch video below to see how I followed his directions on how to varnish your watercolors.
Artist of the Week
Caitlin Leline Hatch I Met Caitlin at the Paint The Point Plein-air event and I have to say this lady can control her watercolor washes like nobodies business. You will be hearing me talk a lot about this ladies work
in the future because her technique and use of watercolor is outstanding!
Product of the Week
Protect your expensive frames you bought. Nothing is worse the banging the frame against something to give it a small nick. Get these for when you carrying them around.
